Malaysia EPF 2010 annual report shows:
For members aged 54 yea old, the average amount saved was only RM145,733.00.
In the next 20 years, average monthly income after retirement is RM607.00.
If rely entirely on EPF, even basic retirement living expenses may not be sufficient.
The concern is:
EPF has 6,038,650 members, only 0.7% of members have RM500,000 and above in their fund.
72% of members, spent all of their EPF savings within 3 years after retirement age 55!
